Job summary

Orbit International Survey Services LLC is seeking an experienced QC Inspector – Coating/Painting in Dubai to perform surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting and coating inspections in line with project specs and standards. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma/Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of coating inspection in Oil & Gas or similar, and a valid NACE/AMPP Level 2 certification.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of coating inspection experience in Oil & Gas, Offshore, Shipyard, Petrochemical, or Fabrication projects.
Strong knowledge of blasting, surface preparation, protective coating systems, and inspection equipment.
Knowledge of coating specifications, ITPs, procedures, and quality documentation.
NACE/AMPP Level 2 certification; CSWIP/BGAS is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Perform inspection of surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting, and coating activities as per approved specifications, ITPs, and procedures.
Verify surface cleanliness, surface profile, environmental conditions, dew point, humidity, and substrate condition.
Conduct tests such as WFT, DFT, adhesion, holiday detection, and soluble salt testing where applicable.
Verify paint materials, batch numbers, shelf life, mixing ratio, thinning, and storage requirements.
Monitor coating application, curing, re-coating intervals, stripe coating, and repair activities.
Identify coating defects and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Review coating procedures, paint data sheets, material certificates, and inspection records.
Raise and follow up RFI, NCR, punch-list items, and inspection reports.
Coordinate with client, third-party inspectors, subcontractors, and painting teams.
Maintain coating inspection records and support final inspection and project handover.
Ensure compliance with NACE/AMPP, SSPC, ISO, ASTM, project specifications, and client requirements.
