Job summary

Absolute Technical Systems LLP in the United Arab Emirates seeks a skilled CNC Horizontal Boring Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. You will set up, operate, and maintain CNC horizontal boring machines to produce high-quality components from engineering drawings.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, understands G-code/M-code, and uses micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs for in-process inspection. We offer free food, free accommodation, and daily overtime.

Qualifications

• 2+ years CNC horizontal boring experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
• Familiarity with cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal boring machines, including loading programs, adjusting offsets, and selecting appropriate tooling.
• Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code programs to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensions.
• Verify machine settings and program parameters to ensure optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs to ensure parts meet specified tolerances and quality requirements.
• Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to maintain production schedules and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation, tooling, and programming.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure machine longevity and operational efficiency.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve product quality.
• Document production activities, including completed work, scrap rates, and machine downtime.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
• Knowledge of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges
• Good understanding of cutting tools, feeds, and speeds
• FANUC Controller experience preferred for turn-mill operators
• Experience in shipyard, heavy engineering, manufacturing, or industrial projects is an advantage
