Sigma Engineering Works LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Horizontal Boring Machine operator for large oil and gas components in Abu Dhabi. You will set up, program at operator level, and operate HBMs to meet tight tolerances on critical parts.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, GD&T, API specs, aligning heavy workpieces, selecting tools, editing programs, performing boring and milling, inspecting with precision instruments, and maintaining safety and quality standards within an API/ASME

Formación

• Requires a recognized Diploma from a Higher Technical College.
• Minimum of five years practical workshop experience in oil & gas components.
• Ability to operate HBM machines and read engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with GD&T, API specs, and customer requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and program CNC Horizontal Boring Machines at operator level for large oil & gas components.
• Machine parts such as valve bodies, flanges, manifolds, spools, and pressure-containing equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings, GD&T, API specs and customer requirements.
• Align, level, and secure large workpieces with precision fixtures and clamps.
• Select and set cutting tools and offsets suitable for alloy and stainless steels.
• Edit CNC programs at machine level for offsets and minor changes.
• Perform boring, drilling, milling, and contouring with tight tolerances.
• Verify work coordinates and references, monitor processes for accuracy and repeatability.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, dial indicators, and CMM where needed.
• Maintain API/ASME compliance and document production and quality data.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining/tooling/program issues affecting quality.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.

• Set up, program at operator level, and operate CNC Horizontal Boring Machines for large, heavy-duty oil & gas components
• Machine critical parts such as valve bodies, wellhead components, flanges, manifolds, spools, and pressure-containing equipment
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, API specifications, and customer requirements
• Align, level, and secure large workpieces using precision fixtures, clamps, and alignment tools
• Select, install, and set cutting tools, boring bars, and tool offsets suitable for alloy steels, stainless steels, Inconel, and other oil & gas materials
• Edit CNC programs at the machine (tool offsets, wear offsets, minor code changes)
• Perform boring, drilling, facing, milling, tapping, and contouring operations with tight tolerances
• Establish and verify work coordinates, datums, and reference points
• Monitor machining processes to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and repeatability
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, CMM where required)
• Maintain compliance with API, ASME, and customer quality standards
• Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, or program-related issues affecting part quality
• Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration checks, and housekeeping
• Complete required production and quality documentation, including inspection reports and job travelers
• Follow strict safety procedures for handling large components and heavy lifting equipment
• Work closely with programmers, engineers, quality, and inspection teams to meet delivery schedules.
