Job Overview
The Client Partner, Strategic Learning (CPSL) is a senior leader within the key account team, partnering with the Regional Director to drive account growth, profitability, and the successful design and delivery of complex leadership development solutions. Serving as a trusted adviser and thought leader, the CPSL builds deep, strategic relationships with clients, engaging senior leaders in business and leadership development conversations that shape impactful learning strategies. With strong business acumen and deep expertise in leadership development, the CPSL architects innovative, high-quality solutions that align with client needs and Harvard Business Publishing’s offerings. As a key member of the Regional Steering Committee and an extended member of the Service Delivery leadership team, the CPSL plays a critical role in shaping regional strategy, ensuring solution excellence, and advancing the evolution of Corporate Learning’s practices and services.
What will you do
- Partner with regional sales leadership to define account strategy and plan for most critical accounts and prospects
- Co‑develop account strategy and execution plan
- Partner to develop opportunities and define solutions
- Develop proposals and pricing
- Ensure solution relevance and executability through close partnership with Service Delivery leaders
- Leverage deep business acumen and knowledge of external factors (local economy, competition, learning trends, learning technology) to lead business conversations with colleagues and with clients / prospects
- Gain client confidence to consult on their comprehensive leadership development strategy
- Provide market information to Marketing and Product Management to ensure that HBP remains at the forefront of leadership development
- Lead high‑level design sessions with prospects / clients to co‑create the optimal solution
- Architect leadership development solutions that are innovative and produce expected behavior change, while leveraging standard HBP solutions wherever possible
- Stay current with trends in leadership, business and learning to help further the learning and leadership development profession
- Provide thought leadership in a variety of forums: client meetings, white papers, industry conferences
- Partner with the sales and delivery teams to develop, maintain, and sustain client relationships over time
- Differentiates HBP against the competition by focusing on points of differentiation to help increase sales and retain clients
- Ensure, with appropriate staffing, design and delivery of projects within an account
- Manage high quality needs assessment, program design, curriculum development and delivery of each client program
- With appropriately sized teams within an account, be responsible for leading an account’s portfolio of business and meeting or exceeding margin, client and quality expectations
- Able to take a leadership role in managing client situations such as scope / timing / quality challenges and is able to identify situations that pose high risk for HBP and draw upon the appropriate resources to mitigate
- Effectively coach and mentor team members on client skills, leadership development content and expertise, etc.
What will you bring
- 10+ years of experience in learning solutions design and delivery
- Demonstrated ability and experience in the following:
- Selling / designing / delivering leadership and management development programs
- Delivering consulting and professional services for complex learning solutions and / or working in a learning and development organization
- Partnering with sales team upstream in the business development process conducting conversations that explore business needs and position potential solutions
- Working with clients at all levels of an organization
- Developing and sharing of thought leadership on learning and leadership development trends
- Managing a portfolio of client projects and in leading teams of practitioners
- Broad-based knowledge of Learning and Development, including technology-enabled adult learning methodologies
- Comfortable and effective in a consultative selling environment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills combined with collaboration and team leadership abilities
- Innovative, flexible and client focused approach to consulting
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English & Arabic
