Taaleem in Abu Dhabi is seeking an inspired teacher who can deliver the school’s distinctive curriculum and foster a love of learning across ages. The role emphasises planning, differentiation and the use of ICT, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and holistic development.

The position requires contributing to whole-school development, planning effective lessons, and supporting students’ academic, personal and social growth in a compassionate learning environment.

Qualifications

• Plan and prepare schemes for work and complete planning documentation.
• Teach with consistent effectiveness to the students in her/his classes, taking full account of all students’ individual educational needs.
• Promote the intellectual, moral, spiritual, cultural and personal abilities and aptitudes of the students.
• Keep reviewing her/his methods of teaching and programs of work.
• Advise and co-operate on the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching schemes, methods of teaching and assessment.

Primary Job Purpose:

Teaching

Continuing Professional Development

• Keep reviewing her/his methods of teaching and programs of work.

• Participate in arrangements for her/his further training and professional development as a teacher.

Curriculum Development

• Advise and co-operate with the Principal and other colleagues on the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching schemes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements.

OSH Roles and Responsibilities include:

• Bring up OSH concerns to the attention of his direct Supervisor or OSH department.


• Exercise effective supervision of their pupils and to know the procedures in respect of fire, first aid and other emergencies, and to carry them out.


• Follow the OSH procedures applicable to their area of work.


• Give clear oral and written health and safety instructions and warnings to students as often as necessary.


• Ensure the use of personal protective equipment and guards where necessary.


• Make recommendations to their Heads of Department/School Principal on OSH equipment and on.


• additions or necessary improvements to plant, tools, equipment, or machinery.


• Ensure that personal items of equipment (electrical or mechanical) are not brought into the school without prior authorization.


• Regularly check their classrooms for potential hazards and report any observed to the Facilities Manager.


• Report all accidents, defects and dangerous occurrences to their Head of Department in the first instance.


• Be vigilant in the work area, identify and report to their supervisors about imminent dangers / hazards / concerns to environment, health, and safety.
