Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and sketches.
• Understanding of carpentry techniques.
• Knowledge of safety practices when dealing with heavy machinery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
• Cut materials by using power saws, hand saws, chisels and planes.
• Assemble wooden structures by nailing, screwing, gluing and using dowels.
• Repair furniture or other wooden pieces by replacing damaged parts.
• Verify the accuracy of work with the use of precision instruments such as squares and levels.
• Fill assembly with appropriate materials such as wood putty and glue.
• Install finished products following customer specifications.
• Maintain all tools and equipment in excellent condition.
