Position Summary

The role of Carpenter cum Plumber is to perform a variety of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks across our facilities. The candidate should be experienced in both carpentry and plumbing works, ensuring all repairs and installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities
  • To follow written and/or verbal instructions, assemble products to schematics and/or design specifications using a variety of testing equipment, hand tools including some precision soldering techniques.
  • To test, troubleshoot and repair completed products and field returns as required.
  • To assemble experimental circuitry or complete prototype model according to design, engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
  • To operate drills, or other machine tools to fabricate parts, such as coils or other electronic section’s related parts.
  • To examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements.
  • To set up and adjust wood working machines and equipment.
  • To fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies, including welding or brazing parts.
  • To cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
  • Dismantle faulty tools and assemblies and repair or replace defective part.
  • To set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment.
  • To check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
  • To prepare artificial defect preparation on test pipe as per the sketch.
  • Construct, install, and repair wooden structures such as doors, windows, furniture, cabinets, and partitions.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including water supply lines, drainage systems, sanitary fittings, and piping.
  • Detect and fix leaks, clogs, or other plumbing faults quickly and safely.
  • Replace or repair plumbing fixtures such as taps, faucets, sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
  • Ensure proper water pressure and drainage throughout the facility.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of plumbing infrastructure.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat and tidy manner in line with HSE standards.
  • To conduct pressure testing.
Skills/Experience
  • ITI / Trade Certificate in Carpentry and/or Plumbing (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a similar dual role.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Working knowledge of tools, materials, and techniques used in carpentry and plumbing.
  • Construct, repairs, restores and installs structures such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
  • Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
  • Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
  • Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
