Avighna Global is seeking an experienced trading professional to originate, negotiate and close limestone, lime, and related minerals contracts in the UAE markets. You will manage a live trading book with exposure monitoring and coordinate with banks on letters of credit and trade finance instruments.
The role requires 3–5 years of trading experience, a solid network of quarry operators and buyers, and strong knowledge of Incoterms and shipping logistics. Regional travel is expected.
Originate, negotiate and close purchase and sale contracts for calcined limestone, quicklime and hydrated lime, quoting on FOB, CFR, CIF terms as appropriate. Structure deal terms including pricing mechanisms, payment terms, quality specifications and delivery windows. Manage a live trading book with real‑time visibility into open positions, shipment status and exposure.
Identify, vet and onboard quarry operators and kiln producers as new supply sources; maintain and deepen existing supplier relationships. Build a buyer network across steel mills, cement plants, glass manufacturers, sugar refineries and water‑treatment operators. Represent Avighna at industry trade fairs, mining minerals conferences and buyer‑supplier site visits. Periodic regional travel expected.
Define and enforce quality specifications for CaO content, LOI, granulometry, reactivity/slaking rate in contracts and coordinate third‑party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas or similar) at load and discharge ports. Coordinate vessel break‑bulk bookings with freight forwarders and shipping lines; track laycan, loading and discharge schedules. Resolve quality claims, demurrage disputes and delivery delays in coordination with legal operations as needed.
Structure and manage letters of credit, CAD terms and other trade finance instruments; coordinate with banks and the finance team on documentation. Assess and monitor counterparty credit risk, country risk and sanctions compliance screening on all new trading partners. Maintain accurate contract, shipment and P&L records for internal reporting and audit purposes.
Track regional steel‑sector flux demand, cement production cycles, freight rates and competitor pricing to inform trading strategy. Provide regular market updates and forecasts to management; contribute to budgeting and volume‑planning discussions.
