Job summary

Confidential Company seeks a seasoned Senior Buyer to drive category growth, manage budgets, and lead strategic sourcing across local and international vendors. You will research market trends, define product ranges, and influence in-store marketing coordination to maximize profitability.

The role requires 6+ years in buying with 3+ years in related categories, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. MBA or equivalent preferred; UAE market experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduation/Post-Graduation degree or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 6+ years total experience with 3+ years in buying.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Financial acumen and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Support Sr Buyer with strategies to develop the category and maximize sales and profits.
• Conduct product research through market visits, trade shows, and data insights to guide buying decisions.
• Define range and influence in-store VM and marketing communication while aligning with brand positioning.
• Drive strategic sourcing, vendor mix, and cost reductions with supplier scorecards.
• Collaborate with coordinators, shipping, warehousing and planning on demand estimation and orders.
• Review weekly sales to optimize category performance and take in-season actions.
• Ensure all procured merchandise meets high quality standards.

Job description

• Buying Budget and Planning: Support Sr Buyer with the strategies to develop the category, identifying opportunities for growth. Manage the category budget with Planning team, with the objective of maximizing sales and profits.

• Product Research: Keep abreast of the latest trends through market visits and trade shows. Gather insights from data and store feedback for informed buying decisions. Also, GCC customer preferences (relevant GCC product trends, seasonal launches, majlis styling, gifting, Ramadan/Eid, wedding registry)

• Product Development and Strategy: design and development activities to ensure they are in line with market demands and company brand positioning. Define range and influence in-store VM and marketing communication.

• Strategic Sourcing: Initiate cost reduction measures through centralized buying and selecting the appropriate vendor mix. Build strong, long-term relationships with key vendors globally and ensure best cost prices and quality. Identify and onboard competitive suppliers (local + International). Maintain strong vendor scorecards (quality, delivery, compliance).

• Order Management: Collaborate with the coordinators, shipping, warehousing and planning team on demand estimation, order placement, adequate newness, reordering of core lines, and supplier follow up.

• Performance Analysis: Review of product sales periodically to ensure profit maximization. Analyze weekly performance at the category and business unit level and take in-season action to optimize sales.

• Quality Control: Ensure all procured merchandise meets the highest quality standards set by the company

Desired Candidate Profile

• Graduation/ Post-Graduation degree/MBA preferred. (Also NIFT ,NID , PEARL)

• Minimum 6+ years of total experience with 3+ years in a buying role in relevant categories

• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.

• Excel and Microsoft power point proficiency

• Proven financial and business acumen, with full integrity.
