About the Role

We are seeking a results-oriented Buyer to manage end-to-end buying operations for GMG’s Sports Division. The candidate will be responsible for leading seasonal product selections, optimizing vendor relationships, analyzing market trends, and aligning buying strategies with business objectives. This role requires strong collaboration across planning, merchandising, and logistics teams, with proficiency in SAP and Power BI to enable data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead product selection and procurement, sourcing high-quality items that meet consumer demands.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, analyze consumer behavior, and evaluate competitor offerings.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, delivery schedules, and maintain product standards.
  • Utilize SAP and Power BI to analyze purchasing data, monitor inventory levels, and forecast future needs.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and logistics teams to ensure smooth product flow and address supply chain challenges.
  • Manage budgets effectively to ensure purchasing activities align with financial objectives and deliver maximum ROI.
  • Assess supplier performance, maintain strong relationships, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with GMG’s procurement policies and prepare detailed reports on purchasing performance and trends for leadership review.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business (Supply Chain Management preferred).
  • Certification in Procurement Management (required); postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in buying, with at least 2 years in retail fashion or retail apparel.
  • Proven expertise in inventory management, SAP ERP, and data-driven analytics.
