English College Dubai LLC is seeking an experienced teacher to deliver engaging lessons that meet UK curriculum standards and examination requirements. You will lead a tutor group, support pastoral care, and contribute to school improvement initiatives within a dynamic, student-centered environment.
The role requires a good honours degree, QTS/PGCE, and a minimum of two years’ teaching experience in relevant UK curricula, with a commitment to safeguarding and high standards of classroom practice.
Have excellent subject knowledge, including the ability to stretch the most able learners at KS5. Have an in-depth knowledge of examination requirements and specifications taught. Use all available contextual data to plan learning to meet the needs of all learners. Be a responsive teacher, adapting practice where necessary to ensure all students make progress. Provide appropriate challenge to all learners, including those identified as More Able and Talented. Support students with additional learning needs and English Language Learners while maintaining high expectations. Undertake a range of formative and summative assessment strategies. Mark work in accordance with the school marking policy. Track and monitor attainment and progress of individuals and groups of students. Effectively communicate with parents through reports, parents' evenings, and individual communications. Contribute to the creation, review, and development of faculty resources. Ensure students make progress within and across lessons. Create and nurture a warm, caring, academically driven classroom environment. Maintain a positive and purposeful physical learning environment, including high-quality classroom displays.
Be responsible for the holistic, emotional, and social development of a tutor group. Monitor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour of students within the tutor group. Deliver PERMA lessons during tutor time following the principles of Positive Psychology. Deliver Moral, Social, and Cultural lessons during tutor time in line with the MOE curriculum. Attend assemblies and contribute to the assembly programme where appropriate. Work closely with the Head of Year and refer students requiring additional support.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people. Communicate effectively and appropriately with all stakeholders. Behave appropriately at all times in line with EC standards and school values. Attend school events and participate in the wider life of the school. Offer a high-quality extracurricular club for at least two school terms. Support school improvement initiatives and relevant improvement plans. Conduct breaktime and lunchtime duties according to the rota. Cover for absent colleagues as appropriate. Take responsibility for personal professional development and engage in the school-wide professional development programme. Undertake any other reasonable duties assigned by the Principal, Senior Leaders, or Line Managers.
