Role Overview
The Business Development Lead will play a pivotal role in expanding CogScientia's client base and driving revenue growth. This position requires a proactive professional with a deep understanding of the Medical Communication industry, capable of leading business initiatives, building strong client relationships, and managing a growing team over time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Development
- Oversee and manage a team focused on expanding client relationships.
- Mentor, guide, and motivate the team to achieve business development goals.
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven work culture.
2. Business Growth & Client Acquisition
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue and market share.
- Identify, approach, and pitch to potential clients through inbound and outbound channels.
- Generate leads, orchestrate meetings with key decision-makers, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.
- Maintain a robust client pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets.
3. Client Engagement & Account Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout pre-sales and post-sales processes.
- Conduct tailored product demonstrations and ensure client satisfaction through customized solutions.
- Analyze client needs, develop proposals, and provide strategic recommendations.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure profitability and long-term collaboration.
- Manage key accounts and maintain positive relationships with existing clients.
4. Marketing & Strategic Collaboration
- Represent CogScientia at industry conferences, events, and forums to strengthen brand visibility and develop new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create impactful promotional materials and campaigns.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management on sales performance and market trends.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Educational Background : Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Scientific Discipline or Health Sciences (e.g., PharmD, MSc, Pharmacy).
- Experience : Minimum 4–5 years in Business Development within the Medical Communication industry (mandatory).
- Proven experience in client acquisition and strategic relationship building.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively across functions and geographies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other business tools.

- Direct Reports : None currently (will build and lead a team over time)
