Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying technology or related field.
• At least two years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of surveying principles and related laws/regulations is essential.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze survey data from field notes, aerial photographs, satellite images and other sources
• Calculate angles, distances and elevations using theodolites, transits or electronic distance-measuring devices
• Perform boundary surveys to identify property lines for property owners or public agencies
• Prepare legal documents such as deeds, easements and plat maps
• Assist in the preparation of reports on fieldwork results
• Locate necessary field evidence such as property monuments or boundary markers
• Advise clients on various survey-related matters such as land use regulations or procedures for establishing boundaries
