Job summary

American Hospital Dubai seeks a skilled Beauty Therapist/Laser Technician to perform skin screenings, assess conditions, and create personalized treatment plans while upholding DHA protocols and high hygiene standards.

You will administer aesthetic treatments such as facials, peels and laser hair removal, manage client records, support inventory, and stay updated on laser technologies, contributing to a premium patient experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Beauty Therapy or related field.
• Completion of an accredited laser technician program.
• Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Conducts skin screening/assessment to understand clients' needs, assesses skin conditions, develops personalized treatment plans, and administers various aesthetic treatments while maintaining high hygiene standards. Provides exceptional customer service, handles inquiries professionally, maintains accurate client records, oversees appointments, assists in inventory management, stays updated on beauty technologies, and collaborates with team members. Operates laser equipment safely, maintains a hazard-free environment, performs laser treatments like hair removal and skin rejuvenation following the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) protocols, ensures patient consent and safety, attends laser safety training, and monitors clients' responses to adjust procedures as necessary.

Position Responsibility:

Beauty Therapist:

• Conducts thorough skin screening/assessment with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
• Assesses clients' skin conditions and medical histories to determine suitable treatments.
• Develops personalized treatment plans and provide clear explanations of procedures.
• Administers a variety of aesthetic treatments such as facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and more.
• Maintains a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the treatment areas.
• Uses advanced techniques and products to achieve optimal results.
• Provides exceptional customer service, ensuring clients feel comfortable and well-informed.
• Handles client inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.
• Maintains a positive and welcoming environment in the clinic.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date client records and treatment logs.
• Handles appointment schedules and follow-up skin screening/assessment.
• Assists in inventory management and ordering of supplies.
• Stays updated on the latest advancements in beauty and laser technologies.
• Attends training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Collaborates with team members to share best practices and improve service quality.
• Operates LASER safely as standard operating procedures.
• Maintains a safe environment/area during the operation of a LASER.
• Performs LASER as per certification, competency or licensing and as outlined in duties.
• Reports to the Supervisor immediately when a change in condition or practices may lead to potential hazards.
• Reports potential exposure incidents and accidents to the Supervisor and the Employee Health nurse.
• Ensures reflective surfaces are covered adequately to avoid unintended laser reflections.
• Ensures patient informed consent is obtained and the patient is given a copy of the safety instructions.
• Attends laser safety training sessions as determined by the hazard classification of the laser they intend to operate.
• Performs laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, and other laser-based treatments following DHA protocols.
• Ensures the safe operation of laser equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitors clients' responses to treatments and adjusts procedures as necessary.

Position Qualification:

• Diploma in Beauty Therapy or related field
• Completion of an accredited laser technician program
• Additional certifications in advanced aesthetic treatments preferred
• Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Beauty Therapist/Laser Technician in a luxury hospital/clinic setting.
• Knowledge of laser technologies and aesthetic treatments.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
• Skills in Communication - build rapport with clients, understand their needs, and provide a comfortable and welcoming environment.
• Skills in Time Management - oversee appointments and treatments to minimize wait times and maximize productivity.
• Skills in Problem-Solving - quickly and effectively address any issues or complications that arise during treatments.
• Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
• Ability to speak and write in Arabic preferred.
