You will craft espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages, delivering personalised service to residents and guests while maintaining coffee station standards.

Ideal candidates have hotel/F&B experience, knowledge of espresso techniques, and a friendly, proactive approach.

InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate, skilled, and guest-focused Barista to join our Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine appreciation for coffee, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering warm, personalised service to our residents and guests. A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you will mainly be responsible for:

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based coffees, teas, specialty coffees, and other drinks, in accordance with established standards.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, espresso extraction, milk texturing, and beverage preparation techniques.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure consistency in beverage quality, taste, temperature, and presentation with every order.
• Welcome residents and guests warmly, providing friendly, attentive, and personalised service.
• Understand guest preferences and make suitable beverage recommendations to enhance their experience.
• Take and process orders accurately, ensuring timely preparation and service.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of the coffee station, counters, equipment, and guest areas.
• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, garnishes, and other supplies, reporting shortages when necessary.
• Follow proper storage, stock rotation, and handling procedures to maintain product freshness and minimise waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health and safety standards.
• Handle guest feedback and special requests professionally, ensuring a positive experience at all times.
• Coordinate with the wider Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth operations and efficient service during busy periods.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including station setup, equipment cleaning, stock replenishment, and preparation for the next shift.
• Support beverage promotions and contribute ideas for new coffee creations and seasonal offerings.
• Maintain professional grooming, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to service excellence.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar Food & Beverage role, preferably within a hotel, café, or luxury hospitality environment.
• Good knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee brewing techniques, and beverage presentation.
• Experience operating professional coffee machines and grinders is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable personality.
• A genuine passion for coffee, beverage craftsmanship, and guest service.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent quality during busy periods.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and beverage handling procedures.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural team.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Flexibility to work rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
