The Barista is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and preparing high-quality matcha-based beverages and other menu items in line with Matcha Moto’s standards. This role plays an essential part in creating a welcoming, efficient, and clean environment that reflects the brand’s premium, health-conscious ethos.
Key Responsibilities
1. Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve matcha drinks, specialty coffees, teas, and other menu items according to company recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain consistency in taste, temperature, and appearance for all beverages.
- Operate, clean, and maintain equipment including matcha whisks, blenders, and espresso machines.
- Monitor ingredient inventory and promptly communicate shortages.
2. Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service at all times.
- Take orders accurately and process transactions using the POS system.
- Educate customers about matcha, its health benefits, and menu options when appropriate.
- Handle customer feedback professionally and elevate concerns to management when needed.
3. Cleanliness & Hygiene
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Follow daily cleaning checklists for bar, counter, and preparation areas.
- Wash utensils, glassware, and equipment throughout the shift as needed.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
4. Teamwork & Operations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist with stock rotation, restocking supplies, and opening/closing duties.
- Follow Matcha Moto’s service standards, dress code, and operating procedures.
- Support the team during busy periods with flexibility and a positive attitude.

Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a barista or in a café environment preferred.
- Knowledge of matcha preparation or coffee-making techniques is an advantage.
- Food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain one).
