Job summary

Sundus Gulf is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer in Abu Dhabi to design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems powering AI-driven applications. You will build robust APIs, microservices, and data pipelines while ensuring performance and security in production environments.

The role requires 7+ years of backend experience, strong coding skills in Python/Java/Node.js, and deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in backend development.
• Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, Node.js etc.
• Proven experience building scalable APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cosmos DB.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, caching, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with Git and version control workflows.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
