Job summary

IRISSTAR Technologies is seeking a senior Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data solutions in the UAE/GCC. The role requires hands-on expertise with Azure Data Services, Databricks, PySpark, and robust SQL/data modeling skills.

The candidate will contribute to building lakehouse architectures, optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensure high performance of data workflows while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Services.
• Mandatory experience working with Databricks.
• Strong expertise in PySpark and Spark-based data processing.
• Experience in designing and developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Experience with SQL and data modelling.
• Good understanding of Data Lake / Lakehouse architecture.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data integration and transformation processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
