Role Overview

The Automation QA Engineer will be entirely focused on designing, building, and maintaining robust automated testing frameworks from the ground up. This is a technical, code‑first engineering role—manual testing is not a part of this position.

The ideal candidate has the mindset of a developer specializing in quality, possessing a deep passion for catching bugs through code rather than clicks. You will own the automation strategy, driving the transition toward fully automated regression, integration, and performance testing pipelines to ensure our platform scales flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight & Architecture

• Framework Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, robust automation test frameworks for both APIs and user interfaces.
• Test Script Engineering: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient automation code to cover complex end‑to‑end business workflows.
• Infrastructure as Code (QA): Manage and scale test environments, ensuring test data generation is automated and reliable.

Execution & Strategy

• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites seamlessly into our deployment pipelines, enforcing quality gates that prevent buggy code from reaching production.
• Performance & Load Testing: Plan and execute automated performance, load, and stress testing to ensure the platform handles high‑volume data traffic.
• Defect Engineering: Programmatically isolate, replicate, and document complex system bugs, collaborating with developers to accelerate root‑cause analysis.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Quality Advocacy: Work embedded within cross‑functional engineering teams to promote a "shift‑left" testing culture, ensuring testability is considered during early design phases.
• Code Reviews: Participate in developer code reviews and conduct strict code reviews for the automation codebase to ensure high engineering standards.

Executive Reporting

• Metrics & Analytics: Maintain and report on quality dashboards, highlighting automated test coverage, pass/fail rates, and regression trends to engineering leadership.

Requirements

Experience

• Years of Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience working strictly as an Automation QA Tester / Quality Engineer.
• Focus Area: Proven track record of building automated test suites from scratch, with minimal reliance on manual testing methodologies.
• Industry Context: Experience testing highly secure, data‑intensive applications (Fintech or SaaS preferred).

Technical Skills

• Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Python or Java (Spring Boot ecosystem).
• UI Automation: Deep experience with modern UI testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• API Automation: Mastery of programmatic API testing using tools like Postman (automated scripts), RestAssured, or Python's Requests library.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Hands‑on experience integrating test suites with Docker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD pipelines.
• Databases: Ability to write complex SQL queries to validate backend data integrity across MySQL or PostgreSQL.
