Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certification is a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience as an auto mechanic; experience with foreign cars is a plus.
• Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and tools used in the trade.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and service automotive systems such as engines, transmissions, steering and suspension systems, brakes and other components.
• Inspect vehicles for potential problems or damage.
• Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctioning parts or systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotation and general tune-ups.
• Repair or replace worn or defective parts using hand tools or power tools.
• Provide accurate estimates of repair costs for customers.
