WSP in the Middle East seeks an experienced Associate to join our Roads & Highways team in Dubai/Sharjah. This senior technical role leads design delivery of complex highways packages for large-scale infrastructure and land development projects across the Emirate.

You will coordinate with utilities, drainage, traffic, structures, and authorities, oversee technical deliverables, and mentor engineers while ensuring Dubai RTA standards, approvals, and buildable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 15+ years of professional experience in roads and highways design.
• Extensive experience delivering Dubai RTA infrastructure and land development projects.
• Preferably last 5 years working on Dubai project.
• Strong understanding of Dubai authority standards, approval processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Ability to lead technical delivery packages with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Review and approve technical deliverables, drawings, reports, and design calculations to ensure quality and consistency.

• Manage design interfaces and resolve technical conflicts to ensure fully coordinated, buildable solutions.
• Support project managers in meeting programme, quality, and delivery milestones.
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions with Clients and Dubai authorities.
• Support authority submissions and approvals, ensuring timely responses to comments and compliance with requirements.
• Provide technical advice to Clients on design development, constructability, and risk mitigation.
• Assist in resource planning, task allocation, and technical input to project programmes.
• Support bid preparation, fee proposals, and technical submissions for roads and highways projects.
• Contribute to improving internal design processes, standards, and best practices.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to engineers and senior engineers within the Roads & Highways team.
• Support capability development and knowledge sharing across the discipline.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our Roads & Highways team in Dubai/Sharjah. This role sits at a senior technical level and will be responsible for leading the design delivery of complex roads and highways packages for large-scale infrastructure and land development projects across the Emirate.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and detailed design of roads and highways infrastructure, including arterial roads, local roads, interchanges, junctions, and access roads.
• Ensure all designs comply with Dubai RTA authority standards, manuals, specifications, and international best practice.
• Review and approve technical deliverables, drawings, reports, and design calculations to ensure quality and consistency.

Project Delivery & Multidisciplinary Coordination

• Coordinate closely with internal and external disciplines including utilities, drainage, traffic, structures, street lighting, landscaping, and public realm.
• Manage design interfaces and resolve technical conflicts to ensure fully coordinated, buildable solutions.
• Support project managers in meeting programme, quality, and delivery milestones.

Client & Authority Engagement

• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions with Clients and Dubai authorities.
