Job summary

MENA Recruit is supporting a leading international law firm in Dubai with the appointment of an experienced Associate to join its Insolvency & Dispute Resolution practice. The role offers exposure to sophisticated cross-border mandates, contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, and direct client engagement across a global client base including financial institutions and investment funds.

• PQE 5–7 years in insolvency, restructuring and complex disputes.
• England & Wales qualification is essential; SQE route accepted.
• Commonwealth-qualified background with experience at an international firm.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and cross-border advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex commercial litigation and multi-jurisdictional disputes.
• Handle insolvency and restructuring matters including liquidations and schemes.
• Advise on debt recovery, enforcement, and asset recovery.
• Assist with shareholder, partnership and investment fund disputes.
• Advise insolvency practitioners and banks on contentious and non-contentious insolvency.
• Support regulatory investigations and related disputes.
• Advise directors on duties in distressed or insolvent situations.
• Manage matters independently with senior lawyers on cross-border cases.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to regional business growth.
• Deliver precise legal advice with high drafting and matter management standards.

MENA Recruit is supporting a leading international law firm in Dubai with the appointment of an experienced Associate to join its established Insolvency amp Dispute Resolution practice This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and technically strong lawyer to work on sophisticated high-value and multi-jurisdictional disputes contentious insolvency and restructuring matters The successful candidate will advise an international client base including financial institutions investment funds insolvency practitioners corporations and high-net-worth individuals The role offers exposure to complex cross-border mandates direct client engagement and opportunities to contribute to the continued growth of the practice across the region

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex commercial litigation financial services disputes and multi-jurisdictional contentious matters
• Handle contentious insolvency and restructuring matters including liquidations receiverships schemes of arrangement and corporate recovery
• Advise on debt recovery enforcement proceedings asset recovery and security enforcement
• Assist with shareholder partnership corporate and investment fund disputes
• Advise insolvency practitioners banks financial institutions and corporate clients on contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters
• Support clients with regulatory investigations and related disputes
• Advise directors and stakeholders on their obligations in distressed or insolvent situations
• Manage matters independently while working closely with partners and senior lawyers on complex cross-border cases
• Develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives across the region
• Deliver technically sound legal advice while maintaining high standards of drafting matter management and client service

Requirements

• Minimum 5 7 years' post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally combining insolvency, restructuring and complex commercial dispute resolution.
• England & Wales qualification is essential, including qualification through the SQE route.
• Commonwealth-qualified legal background with experience gained at a reputable international law firm.
• Strong experience in contentious insolvency, corporate recovery, commercial litigation and cross-border disputes.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong technical legal skills.
• Exposure to financial services disputes, investment funds, shareholder disputes, or asset recovery is advantageous.
• Offshore jurisdiction experience, particularly involving the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands or other offshore financial centers, is preferred but not essential.
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Commercially driven, proactive, and capable of managing client relationships.
• Experience contributing to business development and practice growth.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an international legal team.
