Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is seeking an Associate Director to join its Middle East Restructuring practice. You will lead complex financial and operational initiatives for underperforming businesses, partnering with senior directors to deliver tangible value and sustainable turnaround.

The role requires 7+ years in restructuring, strong modelling ability, stakeholder management across diverse groups, and the ability to win client trust with clear pitches.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in restructuring, Middle East preferred
• Ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups
• Strong financial modelling including cash flow forecasts
• Understanding liquidity and working capital management
• Build trusted relationships with lenders in the Middle East
• Prepare pitches and proposals to a high standard
• Proficient with AI tools to support analysis

Main Responsibilities

How you will contribute

• Offer critical support to companies that are underperforming or experiencing an acute liquidity crisis
• Work directly with company management and help to stabilise financial and operational performance
• Work with Senior Directors and Managing Directors to deliver client projects through the management of multiple work streams
• Support business development activities including the creation of client pitches and proposals to win new mandates

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience working in restructuring, preferably in the Middle East and ideally including company side mandates across both financial and operational workstreams
• Ability to manage diverse and complex stakeholder groups
• Ability to implement change for clients and to deliver results across various aspects of their business
• Strong financial modelling skills, including building 13-week cash flow forecasts and integrated financial models
• A firm understanding of liquidity and working capital management, and of how performance improvement flows through to the P&L and balance sheet
• Able to build trusted, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the Middle East lending community
• Ability to prepare client pitches and proposals to a high standard
• Proficient in the use of AI tools to support analysis, drafting and research
• Fluency in Arabic is desirable but not essential
• ACA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent qualification is desirable
