  • Contribute to rating case presentations, information packs and client discussions.
  • Coordinate rating agency interactions, meetings and information requests.
  • Assist with base-case and downside scenario analysis and rating impact assessment.
  • Collaborate with DCM, Corporate Finance, Coverage and Risk teams to gather inputs.
  • Maintain mandate files, engagement records and sources.
  • Support internal reporting on ratings trends and client opportunities.
  • Ensure outputs comply with FAB governance and confidentiality standards.

JOB SUMMARY / INTRODUCTION

The Associate Director, Ratings Advisory provides analytical and execution support for ratings advisory mandates across corporate, institutional, financial institution and sovereign clients. The role assists in preparing financial analysis, rating agency materials, peer benchmarking and credit narratives to support client discussions and rating agency engagements. The role works closely with senior members of Ratings & Debt Advisory, Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Coverage, Risk and other internal stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely and well-governed advisory outputs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support ratings advisory mandates by preparing analysis, presentation materials and supporting documentation under senior guidance.
  • Assist with reviewing client financial statements, capital structures, cash flows and business profiles.
  • Prepare peer benchmarking, market research and rating methodology summaries to support credit discussions.
  • Contribute to rating case presentations, information packs and client discussion materials.
  • Support coordination of rating agency interactions, meeting logistics, information requests and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with base-case and downside scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis and rating impact assessment.
  • Work with DCM, Corporate Finance, Coverage and Risk teams to gather inputs and align deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate mandate files, engagement records, data sources and advisory documentation.
  • Support internal reporting on ratings trends, market updates and client opportunities.
  • Ensure work is completed in line with FAB policies, confidentiality requirements, governance standards and relevant regulatory expectations.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of regional markets and rating agency methodologies across corporate, FI and sovereign sectors.
  • Good financial modelling, credit analysis and scenario analysis capability, with willingness to further develop technical expertise.
  • Basic understanding of capital markets instruments, including bonds, sukuk, hybrid capital and structured financing solutions.
  • Good presentation, credit writing and analytical communication skills.
  • Ability to engage professionally with internal stakeholders and client teams, with appropriate guidance from senior team members.
  • Good communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage assigned deliverables, work under deadlines and produce accurate outputs.
  • High integrity, collaborative mindset and commitment to governance, confidentiality and risk management.
  • Ability to work across FAB Group channels and support broader ratings and debt advisory initiatives.
  • Preferred / Beneficial
  • Entry-level to early-career experience in credit analysis, ratings, Debt Capital Markets, corporate finance, credit risk or financial services is preferred.
  • Exposure to rating agency interactions, credit assessments or stakeholder materials would be an advantage.
