Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Associate Director of Product Operations to lead the execution of complex, multi-product programs within the OpenBlue portfolio. You will align strategy with delivery, coordinating Product Engineering, AI, UI/UX and Delivery teams to enable exceptional customer outcomes at scale.

You will collaborate with Commercial, Sales and Finance leaders to forecast, plan and drive profitable growth while advancing AI-enabled solutions across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in Product Operations, Program Management, or related leadership roles.
• Proven success leading large cross-functional programs within technology SaaS or digital platforms.
• Strong experience across Product Engineering and Business teams.
• Experience influencing executive-level decision making.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, PI Planning, and portfolio management practices.
• Strong financial acumen including forecasting budgeting profitability tracking and portfolio reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-portfolio program execution across the OpenBlue portfolio.

• Monitor portfolio health through financial, operational and customer metrics.
• Help evolve OpenBlue toward AI-native and GenAI-powered solutions.

At Johnson Controls were building the future of smart sustainable and AI-powered buildings through our OpenBlue platform. As Associate Director Product Operations you will be the operational leader enabling successful execution across our growing OpenBlue portfolio helping product engineering AI commercial and customer success teams deliver exceptional customer outcomes at scale.

You will play a critical role in connecting strategy to execution ensuring alignment across teams managing key customer programs supporting commercial growth and driving operational excellence across a diverse portfolio of digital and AI-enabled solutions.

What You Will Do

Lead Cross-Portfolio Program Execution

• Drive the successful delivery of complex multi-product programs across the OpenBlue portfolio.
• Ensure initiatives are delivered on time within scope and aligned to strategic business priorities.
• Manage risks dependencies escalations and resource alignment across multiple teams.

Enable Exceptional Customer Success

• Act as a trusted partner to Customer Success teams and serve as a key escalation point for portfolio-wide customer needs.
• Support customer onboarding adoption and expansion efforts across OpenBlue solutions.
• Help ensure customer feedback is translated into actionable product and operational improvements.

Support Commercial Growth

• Partner with Commercial and Sales teams to support RFPs RFIs and strategic customer opportunities.
• Coordinate contributions from Product Engineering AI UI/UX and Delivery teams to develop compelling customer proposals.
• Track proposal outcomes and identify opportunities to improve future win rates.

Drive Portfolio Planning and Operational Excellence

• Lead integrated Program Increment (PI) planning activities across Product Engineering AI and UX teams.
• Ensure roadmap alignment visibility and execution consistency across the OpenBlue portfolio.
• Foster collaboration and transparency to support efficient decision-making and delivery.

Support Portfolio Performance and Growth

• Monitor portfolio health through financial operational and customer success metrics.
• Partner with Product and Finance leaders on forecasting budgeting profitability tracking and resource planning.
• Help ensure investments align with strategic growth objectives.

Accelerate AI and Portfolio Transformation

• Support the evolution of OpenBlue toward AI-native and GenAI-powered solutions.
• Partner with product and AI leaders to operationalize new technologies across the portfolio.
• Help establish scalable delivery frameworks that support innovation and customer value.

How You Will Do It

• Build strong relationships across Product Management Engineering Customer Success Commercial Finance and AI teams.
• Bring structure governance and operational discipline to complex fast-moving initiatives.
• Use data and business insights to drive decision-making and prioritization.
• Facilitate alignment across stakeholders with competing priorities and objectives.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in Product Operations Program Management Product Management Business Operations or related leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale cross-functional programs within technology SaaS digital platform or enterprise software environments.
• Strong experience working across Product Engineering and Business teams.
• Experience leading complex stakeholder groups and influencing executive-level decision making.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies PI Planning and portfolio management practices.
• Strong financial and business acumen including forecasting budgeting profitability tracking and portfolio reporting.
• Excellent communication relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise software RFPs and complex customer procurement processes.
• Background in smart buildings IoT sustainability workplace solutions HVAC technologies or digital building platforms.
• Experience working with AI machine learning GenAI or AI-enabled product portfolios.
• Familiarity with OpenBlue or comparable enterprise platforms.
• PMP Agile SAFe or other relevant project/program management certifications.
• Experience managing large-scale portfolios within enterprise B2B organizations.
