Job summary

WSP Middle East are seeking an Associate / Associate Director – Building Technology Systems to join our BTS team within the Property & Buildings business in the UAE. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of smart building solutions, ICT design, ELV systems, and Creative AV technology for a wide range of high-profile projects across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Building Technology / ICT / ELV / AV systems design.
• Experience delivering Creative AV systems on building or mixed-use projects.
• Strong understanding of international standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEC, ISO, AVIXA).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
• Consultancy experience in the Middle East is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design of ICT/ELV systems, including structured cabling, data networks, Wi‑Fi, security systems (CCTV, ACS), BMS integration, IPTV, and telecommunications.
• Develop design deliverables such as drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and BOQs.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams for full coordination and seamless system integration.
• Design and review Creative AV systems: digital signage, video walls, control rooms, meeting room AV.
• Provide technical leadership on AV layouts, acoustics, signal flow and system performance.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, and client-experience teams to deliver innovative, user-centric AV solutions.
• Support the development of smart building design frameworks and IoT/digital platforms integration.
• Ensure compliance with global standards and interoperability across all technology systems.
• Assist with project planning, reporting, and client presentations; coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and authorities; conduct site inspections and testing/commissioning activities.

• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, and client‑experience teams to deliver innovative, user‑centric AV solutions.

Smart Building & Technology Integration

• Support the development of smart building design frameworks within the ICT/BTS scope.
• Integrate IoT, automation, and digital building platforms into coordinated design packages.
• Ensure compliance with global standards and interoperability across all technology systems.

Project Delivery & Coordination

• Assist with project planning, reporting, and preparation of client presentations.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and authorities throughout design and construction phases.
• Conduct site inspections, review technical submittals, and support testing and commissioning activities.
