Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil) to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Resident Engineer in managing daily operations related to utilities works, coordinate with government departments, contractors, and consultants, and maintain project logs. The Engineer is a fully qualified professional proficient in construction and engineering practices. You will also arrange progress meetings with service authorities, record minutes, and distribute records.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Report to and assist the Resident Engineer in supervising infrastructure construction related to civil, road, and wet utilities.
  • Act on behalf of the Resident Engineer during their absence.
  • Chair meetings with utilities agencies and other delegated meetings.
  • Coordinate activities with other engineers and the construction supervision team.
  • Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and related correspondence, preparing replies for the Resident Engineer.
  • Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers to resolve issues.
  • Maintain daily diaries and reports by inspectors.
  • Coordinate scheduling and resource application with contractor engineers.
  • Monitor inspectors' and surveyors' performance.
  • Convene and chair meetings with service authorities, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure records are accurate and complete.
  • Oversee safety procedures and ensure safety goals are met.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Participate in health and safety at the site.
  • Provide on-site direction and assist in issuing site instructions.
  • Measure and record work performed, assist in tracking progress.
  • Ensure accuracy of ‘as-built’ drawings.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of postgraduate experience in design, supervision, and construction management of civil/road/sewerage projects.
  • Experience in civil supervision on major road and infrastructure projects, preferably in the Gulf region.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Statistical Quality Control.
  • Ability to review material submissions, analyze reports, and ensure compliance with specifications.

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of contractual relationships.
  • Proficiency in computer technology and relevant software.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage records and facilitate utility handovers and final clearances.
