Job summary

A leading consumer commerce platform in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Health, Safety & Environment Specialist. You will support the development and implementation of HSE policies, conduct audits and inspections, ensure compliance, and deliver safety training. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in HSE within warehouse and logistics, a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and knowledge of HSE standards. This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do:
  • Support Management in the development, implementation, and communication of HSE policies and guidelines.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s HSE management system in line with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce HSE practices and procedures across departments to ensure full compliance and safe operations.
  • Supervise and maintain safety management processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensure timely corrective actions to address safety concerns.
  • Deliver safety coaching, briefings, inductions, and training to promote awareness and capability at all levels.
  • Prepare and implement emergency management plans and oversee regular fire mock drills.
  • Investigate incidents/accidents, analyze root causes, track statistics, and implement safety improvements to reduce risks.
  • Provide expert technical advice to senior management on HSE-related matters.
  • Support startup and operational activities with detailed safety planning and procedural reviews.
  • Maintain all safety-related documentation and records, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly safety performance reports and weekly inspection summaries to management.
  • Identify and address safety hazards and trends, contributing to a proactive risk management culture.
  • Ensure the organization maintains sufficient trained first aiders and emergency responders.
  • Contribute to safety toolbox talks and training content tailored to site-specific risks and operations.
What you’ll need:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) role, specifically in warehouse and logistics environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE standards and systems, including ISO 45001:2018 and UAE Civil Defense Code.
  • Proven track record in conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Experience in warehousing HSE management and familiarity with EPC/FM industry standards.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience delivering safety training and influencing behavior across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, report writing, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement emergency response plans and safety improvement strategies.
  • High attention to detail, with a proactive approach to hazard identification and mitigation.
  • Professional certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are a strong advantage.
