AsteCo seeks a Government Relations Assistant Manager in Abu Dhabi to serve as the primary liaison with government entities, coordinate across internal teams and authorities to ensure timely processing of government-related transactions, maintain records, and drive the digital transformation of processes.

The role requires 3+ years in government relations or liaison, fluency in Arabic and English, and a UAE driving license.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in government relations, PRO, or liaison, preferably in Abu Dhabi.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) with translation ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building with government stakeholders.
  • Strong coordination and organisational skills with multiple deadlines.
  • MS Office proficiency and familiarity with digital portals and tracking systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and during emergencies.
  • Discretion, professionalism and sound judgement in representing the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular visits to local and federal authorities and private sector.
  • Coordinate and facilitate joint meetings to accelerate transactions.
  • Act as key contact for government officials and maintain relationships.
  • Represent the organisation at government and private functions and coordinate events.
  • Liaise with authorities during rainfall, disasters and emergencies.
  • Prepare quarterly reports on progress and cooperation with government parties.
  • Provide quarterly reports to authorities to support transactions.
  • Coordinate between internal departments and external government entities.
  • Arrange meetings and follow up on government-related requests.
  • Coordinate municipality approvals and inspections, attending on-site meetings.
  • Stay current on policies and support implementation.
  • Support preparation for audits and inspections.
  • Handle urgent government escalations on a same-day basis.
  • Maintain transparent tracking and provide timely status updates.

Job description

Job Purpose: The Government Relations Assistant Manager serves as the primary liaison between the organization and government entities in Abu Dhabi, building and maintaining strong working relationships that enable the timely and efficient completion of the organisation's government-related transactions.

The role coordinates communication and follow-up across internal departments and external authorities, maintains accurate records and reporting, and supports the digital transformation of government processes ensuring transparency, compliance, and a high standard of service throughout.

Roles, Responsibilities, Duties:
Government Relations & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Conduct regular visits to relevant local & Federal authorities and private sector
  • Coordinate and facilitate joint meetings between the organization and relevant entities to enhance cooperation and accelerate transactions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for government officials, building and maintaining ongoing professional relationships that support the efficient handling of the organisation's government-related matter
Representation, Events & Emergency Coordination
  • Represent the organisation at government and private functions, ensuring compliance and effective coordination among relevant stakeholders before, during, and after each event.
  • Act as the liaison with government authorities during rainfall, natural disasters, and other emergencies.
  • Review incoming correspondence from government entities and prepare accurate English versions for management review.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly reports summarising completed work, achievements, challenges, and the status of cooperation with government parties.
  • Provide quarterly reports to government authorities to support and accelerate transaction completion.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between internal departments and external government entities.
  • Arrange meetings and follow up on government-related requests through to resolution.
  • Coordinate municipality approvals and inspections, attending on-site meetings with the concerned entities.
  • Stay current on policies, regulations, and updates issued by government entities, and support their implementation where required.
  • Support preparation for government audits and inspections, including compiling reports on ongoing work and cooperation status.
  • Handle urgent government escalations on a same-day basis.

Maintain transparent tracking systems and provide timely status updates to support efficient follow-up and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Business Administration, Public/Government Administration, or a related field.

Working knowledge of UAE and Abu Dhabi government, federal and private entities, systems, and processes

Valid UAE driving license.

Ability to work under pressure and provide extended-hours support during emergencies.

Discretion, professionalism, and sound judgement when representing the organisation.
