Job summary

IFZA Dubai is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily accounting and tax operations, delivering exceptional client service and strong financial oversight. You will lead a small team, oversee preparation of reports, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process improvements across the shared service center within the IFZA ecosystem.

The role combines leadership with hands‑on accounting work, requiring strong communication, IFRS knowledge, UAE VAT, and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification from a recognized body.
  • 7-8 years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience; IFRS exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for client escalations and ensure high‑quality service.
  • Coordinate preparation and review of accounting reports, filings, and compliance documents.
  • Manage onboarding of new clients and maintain long‑term relationships.
  • Evaluate workflows to streamline processes and document reporting.
  • Oversee invoicing cycles, track budgets and forecasts, and ensure timely payments.
  • Lead juniors; allocate workloads and ensure deadlines are met across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and stay updated on related laws.

Job description

Job Role:

The Assistant Manager will support the day‑to‑day operations of the accounting and tax practice, ensuring exceptional client service, efficient internal processes, and strong financial oversight. This role blends leadership, analytical thinking, and operational management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both people management and hands‑on financial work.

The Shared Service Center forms part of the overall IFZA ecosystem, supporting licensees with accounting and tax compliance support. The department is a growing department, with the ideal candidate identifying a need for controls, providing suggestions and implementing this with a strong skill of being organized to ensure that they have a good grip on any issues, deadlines and tracking within the different teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Management
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client escalations, ensuring timely communication and high quality service delivery.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of specific accounting reports, tax filings, and compliance documents.
  • Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain strong, long-term relationships. Support onboarding of new clients
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
  • Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to streamline processes. Implement best practices in documentation, reporting, and client communication.
  • Support the adoption of new technologies, accounting tools, and automation initiatives.
  • Keep up to date with accounting and tax developments to ensure the team is properly equipped with this Team Leadership & Coordination Supervise juniors (Team Leaders, Accountants) and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Allocate workloads, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are met across accounting and tax projects. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented team culture.
  • Financial Tracking & Invoicing Track project budgets, internal costs, and revenue forecasts to support financial planning.
  • Oversee invoicing cycles, ensuring accuracy, timely issuance, andproper follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial performance reports for management.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all accounting and tax work adheres to regulatory requirements and internal quality standards. Support audits and maintain accurate, organized records.
  • Stay updated on relevant tax laws, accounting standards, and industry changes.
  • Identify any control deficiencies and propose changes Liaison for cross departmental work
  • Working with different departments within the wider organization to deliver specific projects
  • Supporting the wider IFZA Organization with ad-hoc requests, related to accounting and tax.
Experience & Skills required:
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance Professional accounting qualification (from a recognized accounting body)
  • Minimum 7-8 years’ accounting experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ management experience desired Should have good exposure to IFRS
