Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank in Abu Dhabi invites applications for the role of Assistant Internal Shari’a Auditor. You will assist in assessing Shari’a compliance across audit assignments to help management mitigate Shari’a risk to an acceptable residual level.

Fresh graduates or those with up to 2 years of experience, UAE national Emiratisation, Arabic language required, with a degree in Islamic Shari’a or related fields.

Qualificações

• University degree in Islamic Shari’a or related field.
• Desirable professional Shari’a/audit certificates.
• Preference for CIA level 1 or equivalent auditing certification.

Responsabilidades

• Adhere to AAOIFI, CBUAE HSA resolutions, ADIB- ISSC resolutions and audit standards.
• Assist in performing internal Shari’a audits using risk-based approach.
• Visit units to identify improvement areas and plan detailed audits.
• Review Shari’a policies and develop the audit program.
• Identify Shari’a non-compliance risks and obtain management consensus.
• Document controls, conduct walk-throughs, and summarize findings.

Job Description / Role:

Assist in assessing the continuity and conformity level of Shari’a rules & principles throughout the Internal Shari’a Audit assignments in order to provide a reasonable assurance to the management that Shari’a risk is mitigated to an acceptable residual level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the AAOIFI Standards, the CBUAE HSA Resolutions, ADIB- ISSC’ Resolutions, and the Institute of Internal Audit Standards regarding independence, objectivity, proficiency, and performance of audit work.


• Assist in carrying out performance of the internal Shari’a audit assignments efficiently and effectively based on the risk-based Shari’a Audit approach.


• Visit departments/units subject to Shari’a Audit for preliminary surveys, familiarization, identification of potential areas of improvement, and planning detailed audits.


• Compile, review, and summarize Higher Shari’a Authority CBUAE -HSA and ADIB Internal Shari’a Supervisory Committee ISSC’s resolutions.


• Review policies and procedures related to processes and products.


• Develop/review the Shari’a Audit Program and identify/define areas of Shari’a Non-Compliance Risks.


• Identify and evaluate Shari’a Non-Compliance (SNC) Risks, including assessment, rating scales, and obtaining management consensus.


• Perform risk assessment for finance products (assets) and apply sampling methodologies.


• Prepare authority letters and form Shari’a audit assignment teams.


• Document Shari’a controls, conduct walk-throughs, and evaluate the effectiveness of Shari’a compliance controls.


• Review and audit selected samples and prepare findings/exceptions sheets.


• Comply with any additional tasks which could be assigned by the Team Leader/line management.

Experience Required:

Fresh graduated or up to 2 years’ experience.

Education Qualifications:

• University degree in Islamic Shari’a, or relevant specializations.


• Professional certificate in Shari’a and Islamic Banking Audit from one of the organizations that support Islamic finance like (AAOIFI) and (CIBAFI) (optional).


• Professional certification in auditing issued by an international organization like CIA level 1 (preferable).
