Job summary

GEMS Education invites applications for an outstanding Assistant Head of Primary to join in January 2027. The role partners with the Principal to lead day-to-day and strategic management of the Primary school, ensuring high standards and safeguarding.

The post holder will drive curriculum planning, Behaviour for Learning, and parental communication while supporting the UAE National Agenda targets and the school’s Vision and Mission. A strong track record in primary leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in primary education
• Evidence of improving academic standards and pastoral support
• Experience in budgeting and resource management
• Experience in delivering staff professional development
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
• Ability to work with a range of stakeholders including parents and governors

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day and strategic management of the Primary school.
• Support the Head of Secondary in shaping educational strategy.
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and standards across the primary phase.
• Monitor progress and wellbeing of students, staff, and resources.
• Lead performance management and professional development for staff.
• Ensure safeguarding, risk management, and compliance with statutory duties.
