Job summary

Human Resources Department of Ras Al Khaimah Government seeks an experienced Assistant Manager – Internal Audit to oversee end-to-end audit engagements across Government of Ras Al Khaimah entities. The role supports the Head of Internal Audit in delivering a risk-based audit plan and developing audit staff.

The successful candidate will design tailored audit programs, perform fieldwork, and provide practical recommendations to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a comparable business-oriented degree.
• CIA/ ACCA/ CPA from a recognized professional institution.
• Minimum 6–8 years of relevant internal or external audit experience.
• Experience in public sector/government environment preferred.
• Big 4 or equivalent firm experience advantageous.
• IPSAS knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end internal audit engagements from planning through reporting.
• Design and review audit programs, objectives, and test procedures.
• Conduct fieldwork including process walkthroughs and data analysis.
• Prepare high-quality audit working papers following IIA Standards.
• Identify control weaknesses and develop practical recommendations.
• Supervise and coach Associate Auditors during engagements.
• Monitor engagement time budgets and maintain productivity.
• Draft audit reports with findings and management action plans.
