Nibras International School is looking for a qualified Art Teacher to join the team in August 2025. Job Purpose
- Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils: establish a safe and stimulating environment for pupils rooted in mutual respect, set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds, abilities, and dispositions, demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
- Promote positive progress and outcomes with/for pupils: accountability of pupils' attainment progress and outcomes, awareness of pupils' capabilities and prior knowledge and planning teaching to build on these, guidance of pupils to reflect on progress and emerging needs, knowledge of how pupils learn and its impact on teaching, encouraging responsible attitudes towards work and study.
- Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge: sound knowledge of relevant subjects, foster and maintain pupils' interest, critical understanding of developments in the subject and curriculum, promote high literacy standards and correct use of Standard English, systematic synthetic phonics for early reading, appropriate teaching strategies for early mathematics.
- Plan and teach well‑structured lessons: impart knowledge effectively, promote love of learning and intellectual curiosity, set homework as appropriate, reflect on lesson effectiveness, contribute to engaging curriculum design.
- Adapt teaching to respond to strengths and needs of all pupils: differentiate appropriately, understand inhibiting factors, support pupils across developmental stages, engage pupils with special educational needs, high ability, EAL, disabilities.
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment: assess statutory requirements, use formative and summative assessment, monitor progress with data, give regular feedback orally and through accurate marking.
- Manage behaviour effectively: clear rules and routines, high behavioural expectations, discipline framework with praise, sanctions and rewards, manage classes, maintain good relationships and act decisively when necessary.

Teaching
- Plan and prepare schemes of work and complete planning documentation.

- Set and mark work for students in school, online, at home, or elsewhere as appropriate.
- Promote students’ intellectual, moral, spiritual, cultural, physical, and personal growth, and provide guidance on educational and social matters.
- Record and report on students’ personal and social needs.
- Participate in whole‑school development and share best practice.
Assessment Recording and Reporting
- Assess, record, and report on students’ progress and attainment.
- Provide or contribute to oral and written assessment reports and references for individual students or groups.
- Guide students to set targets for improvement, giving regular feedback to support next steps.
Continuing Professional Development
- Review teaching methods and programmes of work.
- Take accountability for own development.
- Participate in further training and professional development arrangements.
Curriculum Development
- Advise and cooperate with the Principal and colleagues on course preparation, teaching materials, schemes, methods, assessment, and pastoral arrangements.
- Take responsibility for specific subjects.
- Embed UAE heritage and culture within the curriculum.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor degree in Art or any relevant degree.
Experience: 2 years of teaching in a school.
