Job summary

TransPerfect Dubai is seeking an Arabic Linguist with a minimum of 2 years' experience in marketing and creative content to join our office. The role covers translation, post-editing, proofreading, and managing language assets in collaboration with Production teams.

You will ensure content aligns with brand tone for Arabic-speaking audiences, participate in client calls, train junior linguists, and maintain terminology like calendars, glossaries, and style guides.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent and/or translation certificate.
• Minimum 2 years translation or linguistic experience, preferably in marketing, retail or travel content.
• Must have passed Internal Linguistic testing in line with TLC program.

Responsibilities

• Translate and post-edit marketing/creative content as assigned.
• Maintain and update language assets (TM, glossaries, style guides).
• Ensure content reflects brand tone and market nuances for Arabic audiences.
• Collaborate with project teams and client stakeholders on linguistic queries.
• Uphold TransPerfect quality standards and timelines.
• Manage personal schedule and escalate concerns to management promptly.
• Train 2-4 linguists annually (LQRs).
• Represent TransPerfect in client meetings and conferences when needed.
• Follow project instructions and language assets (TMs, glossaries, style guides).
• Communicate challenges and solutions to production teams.

Linguists prioritize linguistic tasks for various clients and departments depending on Production needs and in accordance with their subject matter expertise. Their linguistic skills are certified as part of the hiring process.

A Linguist can handle all types of common jobs within their vertical- e.g. machine translation post-editing translation proofreading tracked changes etc. and is responsible for maintaining language assets and training other linguists

• Proven ability to adapt language for marketing and creative content

• Maintain and update language assets (TMs glossaries style guides) relevant to marketing retail and travel content

• Ensure all content reflects appropriate brand tone and market-specific nuances for Arabic-speaking audiences

• Collaborate closely with project teams and client-facing stakeholders to address linguistic or cultural queries

• Understand TransPerfects quality standards and ensures they are upheld to meet client expectations

• Easily navigate among company resources including but not limited to Confluence Launchpad technology

  etc.

• Fully proficient in data analytics related to their personal linguistic performance

• Manage their schedule fully and independently and elevate concerns to their manager effectively and in a

  timely manner

• Handle training/LQRs of 2-4 linguists annually

• Represent TransPerfect externally (in client meetings/calls with freelancers at conferences while volunteering

  on social media etc.)

• Perform all linguistic tasks according to project specifications including but not limited to project instructions

  reference materials language assets (translation memory glossary style guide etc.)

• Seamlessly communicate challenges and solutions to project-level stakeholders across production teams

• Take part in calls and meetings with production sales and clients as needed

• Follow internal and client processes on all projects

• Participate in the training of new team members when needed

• Work under moderate supervision of the Team Lead

• Achieve/surpass quality and efficiency targets as set by manager/supervisor

• Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor

Job requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong cultural knowledge of the GCC and wider MENA region

• Proven ability to adapt language for marketing and creative content

• Fully knowledgeable and graduated all trainings required for Linguists including but not limited to their subject matter certification Linguistic Quality Reviews (LQRs) tech tools TPT production processes and Quality Assurance processes

• Be flexible with changes of priorities and adaptive to a fast-paced work environment including being open to

  align with Production and team needs and urgencies

• Be solutions-oriented

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English in addition to Arabic

• Cultural knowledge in both Arabic and English

• Flexibility and adaptability to the different assignments and tasks using the relevant skills and tools in each case (accuracy creativity fluency etc.)

• Ability to effectively multitask in order to simultaneously execute multiple projects

• Organizational skills ability to prioritize results-oriented self-motivated

• Ability to maintain professionalism and focus under pressure and tight deadlines

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Bachelors degree or its equivalent and/or translation certificate

• Minimum 2 years translation or linguistic experience preferably in marketing retail or travel content.

• Must have successfully passed the Internal Linguistic testing in line with TransPerfects TLC program
