Job summary
XAD Technologies seeks an Advanced Metering Infrastructure Engineer to lead deployment and integration of AMI systems across multiple projects in the UAE. The role focuses on smart metering, data integration with HES/MDMS, and coordination with utility clients, ensuring secure and reliable AMI operations.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Power specialization preferred) with 4+ years in AMI or smart grid projects in the UAE and valid UAE driving
Qualifications
- Proficiency with smart meter protocols and communication systems.
- Familiarity with major AMI platforms and vendors.
- Solid understanding of power distribution systems and equipment testing.
- Experience with ADDC substations and AMI cybersecurity best practices is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning, implementation, and maintenance of AMI and smart grid projects.
- Test, commission, and troubleshoot smart meters and related communications (DLMS, Modbus, MBUS, RF Mesh, NB-IoT, PLC, LTE).
- Configure and integrate meter data with HES and MDMS.
- Work with smart metering platforms such as Landis+Gyr, Itron, Elster, Iskraa, Kamstrup.
- Ensure proper installation/commissioning of DP points and associated equipment (11kV/22kV/33kV).
- Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams for secure AMI deployment.
- Coordinate with utility clients like ADDC for substation AMI integration.
- Generate technical documentation and commissioning records.
