Job summary

Confidential is building a digital-first, AI-enabled financial services platform in the UAE. We seek an AI Engineering Lead to design, build, and operate the bank's enterprise AI platform, enabling AI agents, LLMs, and ML capabilities at scale.

You will partner with Data Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Product teams to establish a trusted, compliant AI foundation, mentor a high-performing team, and drive adoption of AI-native development practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in AI engineering or MLOps with leadership responsibility.
• Production experience deploying ML models, LLMs, and agentic systems at scale.
• Strong experience with MLOps/LLMOps platforms, model serving, governance, and AI lifecycle.
• Experience building GenAI, RAG, vector DBs, and AI orchestration solutions.
• Experience in regulated environments like banking/fintech.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, explainability, monitoring, and risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and operation of enterprise AI platform and AI gateways.
• Develop and manage platform supporting AI agents, orchestration, and governance.
• Establish evaluation, monitoring, and testing for models and AI agents.
• Deliver GenAI and RAG capabilities, including pipelines and LLM integrations.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Governance for trusted AI solutions.

As AI Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for building and operating the bank's enterprise AI platform, enabling AI agents, LLMs, and machine learning capabilities to operate safely, securely, and at scale. Working closely with Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Compliance, and Product teams, you will help establish one of the region's most ambitious AI-native banking platforms from day one.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, and operation of the bank's AI platform, including model serving, registries, AI gateways, and MLOps/LLMOps capabilities.
• Build and manage the platform supporting AI agents, orchestration services, tool integration, agent governance, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Establish evaluation frameworks, guardrails, monitoring, and testing processes for models and AI agents.
• Deliver production-grade GenAI and RAG capabilities, including retrieval pipelines, vector databases, and LLM integrations.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Governance teams to ensure trusted, compliant, and governed AI solutions.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing AI Engineering team while driving adoption of AI-native development practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, or MLOps, including leadership responsibility.
• Production experience deploying machine learning models, LLMs, and agentic systems at scale.
• Strong experience with MLOps/LLMOps platforms, model serving, model governance, and AI lifecycle management.
• Experience building GenAI, RAG, vector database, and AI orchestration solutions.
• Experience operating within banking, financial services, fintech, or another highly regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, explainability, monitoring, model risk, and responsible AI practices.
