Job summary

ByteGrid Talent Services in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Agricultural Technician to provide technical support to farmers and agribusinesses. The role partners with agronomists to implement farming techniques and ensure quality crop production.

This part-time position requires a Bachelor's in Agronomy or related field, at least two years of relevant experience, and strong English communication. Local crop knowledge of Abu Dhabi is a plus, and Nepali language skills are an asset.

Job description

Agricultural Technician

As an Agricultural Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to farmers and agricultural businesses in Abu Dhabi. You will work closely with Agronomists and other agricultural professionals to ensure the successful implementation of farming techniques and methods. This is a part-time position with a salary of 900$ per month.

Responsibilities

• Conduct soil and water testing to determine the best farming methods for different crops
• Assist with the development of crop production plans and schedules
• Monitor and analyze crop growth, pest infestations, and disease outbreaks
• Provide recommendations for pest control and disease management
• Train farmers on proper use of agricultural equipment and techniques
• Conduct field visits to assess crop health and provide guidance on irrigation, fertilization, and other farming practices
• Keep updated records of farm activities and provide reports to supervisors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of local crops, climate, and soil conditions in Abu Dhabi is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data from soil tests, weather patterns, etc.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with farmers and other team members
• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Nepali language is an asset

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position with flexible working hours. You may be required to work weekends or evenings depending on farm needs.
