Job summary

Emirates Global Aluminium is seeking a Shipment & Transport Operations Clerk to administer and handle shipment and transport activities in line with company policies and standards. You will coordinate with production, shipping lines, and freight forwarders to meet schedules and confirm delivery in the system.

The role requires a Grade 12 certificate and 1–2 years in Export Shipping and Logistics, plus proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years' experience in Export Shipping and Logistics.
• Proficiency in MS Office, email and internet communication.

Responsibilities

• Allocates operations among vessel/transporter companies and inputs the schedule into the system.
• Coordinates with Production Scheduling, CFS and the Shipping/Transporter to meet the schedule.
• Communicates with Shipping Lines/Transporters/Forwarders regarding shipment status.
• Tracks shipments and deliveries until completion and confirms in the system.
• Completes administrative duties to fulfil objectives.
• Monitors tasks and escalates issues to prevent problems.

JOB PURPOSE:

To administer and handle shipment and transport operations in order to fulfil the Company's obligations to its customers as per the terms and conditions agreed, in line with approved policies, procedures and standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Day-to-Day Operation

• Allocates operations among the appropriate vessel / transporter companies and inputs the schedule into the system
• Coordinates with Production Scheduling, CFS and the Shipping/Transporter company to ensure shipments meet the agreed schedule
• Communicates with Shipping Lines / Transporters / Freight forwarders both verbally and in writing regarding status of shipment/delivery as and when necessary
• Keeps track of shipments and deliveries until completed and confirms delivery into the system
• Completes the required administrative duties and tasks associated with the above accountabilities to fulfil the objectives
• Monitors tasks and work progress thoroughly and escalates issues to the line manager/supervisor to resolve and to prevent any potential problems
