Job summary

A large regional retail distribution company in Dubai seeks an experienced Accounts Assistant to support the Accounts Manager with daily bookkeeping tasks. Candidates must have at least two years of experience in a similar role within a retail environment and possess a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Key responsibilities include checking daily revenue, generating sales reports, managing petty cash, and assisting in audits. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with attention to detail are essential.

Job description

Based in Jebel Ali, the Accounts Assistant will report directly to the Accounts Manager of this large regional retail distribution company. The primary role will be to assist the Accounts manager with the day‑to‑day bookkeeping of the organisation and will require a minimum of two years similar experience supported by a Bachelor of Commerce qualification. Prior experience within a retail company is absolutely mandatory and candidates without this experience will NOT be considered.

  • Retail revenue and reporting: checking daily stores via cash, credit, gift vouchers, credit noted etc. against the daily closing reports to ensure sales are registered correctly.
  • Posting adjustment entries in the ERP system.
  • Generation of periodical retail sales reports to satisfy the requirements of the company management and mall management.
  • General reconciliation for banks, credit cards, staff uniforms and other sub‑ledger accounts.
  • Petty cash management.
  • Archiving, account finalisation and audit support.
