Job summary

Work standard in Abu Dhabi, UAE is seeking an Accountant to manage daily financial transactions, prepare monthly financial statements, and support budgeting and compliance with GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks is preferred but not required.
• Experience with financial analysis and management reporting.
• Good knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate processing of all financial transactions according to company policies and procedures.
• Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, trial balances, and other reports as needed.
• Analyze financial information to ensure accuracy of records and compliance with applicable laws/regulations.
• Prepare journal entries including accrual entries, payroll entries, depreciation entries etc..
• Monitor cash flow on a daily basis; reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis; prepare periodic bank reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accounts; research discrepancies when necessary; prepare adjusting entries as needed; post month-end closing entries.
• Assist in preparing budgets; analyze budget variances; develop forecast models when necessary
• Develop audit trails for all transactions processed ensuring adherence to accounting standards
• Assist external auditors with year-end audit activities; provide requested documents within established deadlines
