Senior Data Analyst

Job Purpose & Responsibilities
The Senior Data Analyst will lead data analysis and reporting efforts that support academic operations, strategic planning, institutional research, market studies, institutional and operational performance management, and process optimization. The role enables data‑driven decision‑making and compliance with accreditation and ranking requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Education
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field: Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Institutional Research, or related discipline.
- Business intelligence tools proficiency: Power BI, Tableau.
Desirable
- Project management experience.
Work Experience
- 12+ years of experience in data analytics / institutional research, preferably in higher education with a demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and improving processes related to academic operations.
- Experience managing or contributing to large and/or complex datasets, integrating data from multiple sources (e.g. SIS, LMS, ERP, student support systems) and ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Proven track record in developing dashboards, predictive models, or tools to aid leadership decision‑making.
- Experience in survey design, administration, and analysis, especially with academic surveys (student satisfaction, course evaluation, alumni, employers) and following up on action plans.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and ability to build dashboards and interactive reports.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the application of Microsoft Office Suite, especially spreadsheets.
Preferable
- Proficiency in querying and manipulating data: SQL.
- Understanding of academic operations and higher education processes: course scheduling, accreditation, graduation & retention rates, student lifecycle.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for higher education in the UAE.
- Awareness of data governance, metadata, data privacy & protection, ethical use of data.
- Familiarity with institutional research best practices: benchmarking to peer institutions, survey methodology, and strategic analytics.
