We are looking for a high-performing Director of Sales. The
successful candidate will meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth
objectives. Sales director responsibilities include developing key growth sales
strategies, tactics, and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies
is required to achieve your financial targets. Sales director duties will
include hitting annual targets, building relationships, and understanding
customer trends.
Working with the General Manager, Regional Revenue Manager, and
the Regional Director of Sales, optimally merchandize revenue potential for
assigned property and ensure customers have a memorable hotel experience.
Develop and execute Sales action plans, maintain positive
interdepartmental relations, and complete special projects as assigned by the
General Manager, Regional Director of Sales and/or Senior Vice President of
Sales and Marketing.
This position will be a dual sales position for Hampton Inn & Suites and Hilton Garden Inn.
PRE-REQUISITES
- Previous direct selling
experience in a hotel.
- Demonstrated success in
developing a market.
- Experience selling lodging to
Corporate and weekend market segments is a plus.
- Hotel operations experience
preferred.
MARKETING AND SALES MANAGEMENT
- Develops/assists with
development of the hotel’s marketing and sales plan based on the hotel’s
position and strengths within each market segment.
- Implements hotel’s marketing
and sales plan.
- Analyzes and understands the
competition’s strengths and weaknesses for each market segment and
successfully directs marketing activities against each.
- Identifies and maintains
constant communications with the hotel’s key accounts.
- Establishes lists of top
accounts and top target accounts. Maintains communication with these
accounts monthly.
- Actively sells room nights
through outside sales calls, telemarketing, tours, etc.
- Actively markets the hotel
through advertising, blitzes, direct mail campaigns, etc.
- Actively sells to in-house
guests (greeting tours, talking with guests at continental breakfast to
solicit additional leads, etc.).
- Knows the competition well. In
addition, is familiar with all “business” in the market, where that
“business” stays and why.
GUEST SERVICES
- Supports guest service as the
hotel’s driving philosophy.
- Personally demonstrates a
commitment to guest service by responding to guests’ needs.
HUMAN RESOURCES
- Ensures that hotel employees
(especially front desk staff) are familiar with key accounts and their
specific needs and arrangements (rates, room types, key contacts, etc.).
